FROM MADRID
Take the AP-1 motorway in the direction of Burgos, currently toll-free, and go towards Vitoria and Pancorbo.
Next, take the BU525 turn-off and after passing through the town of Espejo, where you can find the Oraa bakery, which supplies our bread for breakfast, go towards Villanañe and turn right at the intersection that is signposted Caranca and Angosto.
At the end of that road you will see Astúlez.
FROM BARCELONA
Take the AP-68 motorway towards Zaragoza, then follow the signs for Logroño and Miranda and exit at Subijana de Morillas. From there, take the A-3318 towards Escota and Karkamu.
After this last village, turn right towards Orduña and then turn left at the sign for Caranca.
After a narrow road, between cereal farms and solar panels, turn right and after two kilometres you will reach Astúlez.
FROM SAN SEBASTIÁN
The easiest and fastest route is the AP-1 to Vitoria. From there you take the N-1 towards Burgos-Madrid and then take the exit for Nanclares de la Oca (make sure it’s the second exit for Nanclares de la Oca as the first goes through the town).
Follow this road until you reach the sign for Subjiana-Morillas on the right. Then turn left to-wards Karkamu and once you have passed this village (after passing Escota, Barrón and Guinea), turn right towards Orduña and then turn left, following the sign to Caranca.
Cross a narrow road, between cereal farms and solar panels, and turn right. Astúlez is two kilometres away.
FROM BILBAO AIRPORT
Upon leaving the airport, follow the signs to Bilbao and then take to the A-68 motorway to-wards Burgos. Exit at the Llodio-Orozko toll and continue to Orduña. Cross the Amurrio and Orduña ring road, climb the Orduña mountain pass with its impressive views, pass through the village of Berberana and before reaching Osma, turn right at the junction marked Astúlez.
